Jan 2026 - Referral Offer for the Amex Velocity Platinum Card?

Hi all, can anyone tell me what the current (27 Jan 2026) referral offer for this card is? I'm toying between this card and the Qantas Ultimate.

Also, does anyone know if the current Velocity promo of +30k points for new cardholders will work if I apply for the Velocity Platinum through a referral link, rather than directly through Amex public offer (70k year 1 + 30k year 2)?

Alternatively, if you happen to have an ABN, the business version is offering 200,000 velocity points for approx half the annual fee.

I signed up for this card several months ago and it’s an absolute winner. Great points earner and in the current environment has likely become a keeper for me. There was a very straight forward application process and the card was with me a few days later. For anyone with an ABN who might be struggling to be approved for a personal AMEX due to the well documented crackdown on churners, this is an exceptional alternative.

Currently a very generous sign up bonus for this card of 200,000 velocity points. Annual fee is only $249 which makes this almost unbeatable IMO. Note an 18...

Thanks for replying. FYI update - I just found this in the T&C's for the current +30k offer on Velocity website, which excludes the 'refer a friend' program from the +30k offer:

"30,000 bonus Velocity Points for American Express Velocity Platinum Card (excluding applications via the American Express ‘Refer a Friend’ program), and Westpac Altitude Velocity Black credit card"
