A couple of months ago I booked 2 Rewards Seats (return) requiring 16,800 Points per person per leg. I opted for the Reward and pay Taxes and Surcharges.I have been charged almost $73.00 over the same day Taxes and Surcharges on a full paying fare.

I thought that Velocity had a two tiered program and if there were no "Reward Seats" available (as with other airline reward programs) no seats were available for that flight unless you chose to use the "Any Seat" program, provided you had sufficient points to cover the available seats.

I have had several email correspondence with their admin centre (in KL) and have not been able to get a satisfactory response. I have had numerous "explanations" and questions but have been assured that I have not been charged any extra for Taxes and Surcharges.

I cant see how they can show 16,800 points for a sector and charge extra - it seems like false advertising to me.

Any one else had the same problem??
