Hi everybody!

We are looking at coming home soon - 26/6 YYC-DFW-BNE and we have the option of a Red Tail Fare but in the fare conditions it doesn't say whether or not it is eligible for upgrades? We would like to try our luck with an upgrade from Economy to Premium on the DFW-BNE leg...

Any advice?
Thanks in advance! :)

I assume you mean a red-e-deal/sale fare?

This may help you, Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Flight Upgrades - International Flight Upgrades though you might have to do a search on how to work out what fare class the flight is. Generally if it's a sale, it wont be eligible I've found.

Edit: I had a look at the fare conditions and under the Qantas Frequent Flyer section do see that the line on the sale fare "Flight Upgrade Awards are not eligible on this fare" is missing on the Red Tail fare. By all account it looks like it's eligible, though it explicitly says so on both the Saver fares. You could enquire through the call centre before ducking back online to book (and avoid the telephone assistance fee).

You nwed to check the umderlying fare class, which I suspect is V. V should be ok,.

I have seen some N fares that are upgradeable, so it is generally a good idea to check the "Qantas Frequent Flyer" portion of the rules, even getting a screen print, before booking.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Our Reservations team will be able to confirm this for you. Please contact them at your convenience. :)

Joy6328 - check the loads from DFW to BNE first (there is a thread on her to help with that) - we came back in August last year and economy was very very light - to the point there was a large number of people sleeping in 3 seat row by themselves.
