Would very much appreciate any suggestions for a 3 night stay in NYC in late October, and particularly “affordable “ (ie sub $500 pm with current HH sale prices) options where HH Diamond would deliver some benefit. Tempo and Hilton Times Square seem OK but probably prefer not to be right in TS.
The SLH properties, the Draper and the Martinique look interesting. Conrad Downtown is twice the price.
My other option would be the Sofitel, as am Accor + Plat.
Thanks in advance.

I stayed here a few years ago which was OK but not fantastic but it suited my budget and good location

When we are in NY we gravitate to the Hilton Mid Town, no particular reason other than we are used to it. The lounge was not the best but did the job, in our experience most US hotels within the Hilton chain at the HH Diamond level the experience is underwhelming.

Not too flash, but we stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn in Nov 2024, Thanksgiving week - Hilton Garden Inn West 35th st.

I was only Gold, no lounge, didn't use the breakfast options as it was basic reheat the sausage and egg muffin kind of stuff. We enjoyed using the daily F&B allowance on overpriced M&Ms, etc, from the snack area to take home.
Close to Macy's and a subway station.

No free booze anymore at the lounge, it’s really only there so they don’t have to give you the F&B credit.

Hilton Times Square has a great location, and the Empire rooms have a good view (don’t get the Times Square rooms, you can’t actually see Times Square). Very limited benefits to elites - I think they might even charge for luggage storage after check out?

As with most US Hiltons, Diamonds are a dime a dozen so don’t expect much much at any property.

I think it depends on what you're doing in NYC. We stayed in FiDi last trip since our logic was that we would be subwaying all over town anyways and happy to trade a bit of time for much cheaper price and quiet at night (Wall st area is very quiet at night). Stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Financial Center

Rooms were ok but it was a bit of struggle to use the F&B vouchers at the restaurant with the restaurant pushing back a lot even after the front manager came up to speak to them.

Thanks for the replies. NYC is very pricey- my last stay was a long time back at the Waldorf Astoria for 59k points per night, with an upgrade to a junior suite as a HH diamond. Distant memories now….

Booked the Millennium UN. Seems fine, away from the action but only a few blocks to Grand Central, + ferries to Brooklyn. Premium room with the current HH sale was $400 less for 3 nights than anything comparable, and it seems the $35 resort fee is at least returned as a credit, which isn’t the case elsewhere.
