I also look for reviews based on actual experience rather than such issues as cost.
For me, customer reviews are an integral parameter of making a decision. The PDS is important and the cost is important, but there is absolutely no use paying for a policy with a PDS that suits perfectly and a fabulous premium (so to speak), but the company wants your first born before they even look at a claim.
For most of us, the only inkling we have, as to whether a company honours their agreements without drawing blood is either:
a) to make a claim (by then it's too late); or
b) listening to others speak of, or write about, their impressions of their experiences.
All the medicos that frequent this forum would perhaps say it's a "holistic" approach!
