Recommendation for debit card in EU

Might be too late.
Master QS flying out to CPH for 6 months on exchange
he said he would organise a debit card to use overseas - but has not . At least he did the Visa!!

He will be able to setup a bank account in Denmark - and i suspect they will issue him a debit card of sorts

If not what are the alternatives

I agree, Wise is probably the simplest, quickest and safest EU debit card. The exchange rates are very good too.

The multi-currency account is very useful to use the debit card wherever you like in local currency.

Interestingly people in Copenhagen saying to Master QS that PayWave or similar contactless tap and go payments are not common there.

Very interesting - in their Scandinavian neighbours "Paywave or similar" was accepted pretty much everywhere.

Yeah, it’s cash you have problems with (both getting and using).
