As we are all quick to complain I thought I should be equally quick to praise.
I have a trip booked to Adelaide to visit a friend on the weekend of the 13-16 August.
I noticed that seat selection was unavailable for the return flight ADL-PER.

I mentioned this to the Qantas account on twitter.
More because it was odd than because I wanted something done about it.
It took a little while for them to process my issue due to privacy settings on twitter.

In the meantime I looked at the seat map in Expert Flyer and saw that rows 2 & 3 were full.
This left only row 1, in which 1A was taken, and the other three seats were blocked for all but P1 until T-80.
Mystery solved, I used the T-80 app to set a reminder to try to grab 1F at T-80.

I noted this in my next reply to QF on twitter and observed that, if they couldn't give me access to seat selection, it would be great if they could simply put me in 1F, as they were going to have to put me in row 1 eventually anyway.

I just received an email from QF customer care confirming seat allocation in 1F.

So I am grateful for both the outcome and - perhaps more so - for the responsiveness.

Therefore on this occasion, thank you very much QF for getting customer service exactly right!
