Recent Experiences with Qantas' terminal transfer at SYD

I think your second statement has nailed it, ...
Yep. Agreed. Also I see no justification whatsoever for pax on any terminals transfer having to pay for it. It's well just ridiculous. If Heathrow can transfer you air side to airside or between terminals using Heathrow express for nada then sorry SYD it's just a poor show...like most Aussie airports to be honest.

They will want to scan your QFi BP or next flight BP.
Not sure if Sri Lankan Airlines is a QF partner.
Also if you have plane hold bags, they would sit at T3 caroyseks of not on same PNR to Colombo.
If Air Lanka linked to QF PNR, then no problem.

Edit: just checked.
So Sri Lankan is in OW, and a QF partner, so if linked PNR, then transfetmr bus is a yes.
Thanks. I assumed bags would go through, just wasn't sure about eligibility for the bus. All 3 legs are on the one ticket. Hopefully all goes smoothly on the day!

If say, dep ADL - SYD - CMB, is: you show your passport at ADL, or PER/HBA/MEL/BNE, and then, they will issue you BP for the whole way, at SYD T3, go to gate 15, making sure you have all your HLO, at gate 15, take out the BP for the bus attendant counter person to scan, you scan BP, then go into the holding area, bus comes, you go down the slight steps, and then into the sardine can bus, over to T1, then through outgoing sec screening and immi, then to gate.
On a linked PNR, its not that bad, both for leaving and coming back to Aus, but if on unlinked PNR, ie, separate, that is where it can be troublesome.

Questions - I'm transiting from DOM --> INT late on Sunday afternoon. All on one PNR and 2 hr transfer time. I've noticed the domestic leg can arrive quite late, sometimes leaving only a 50 minute transfer gap.

What would be a viable minimum transfer time (carry-on only, have express pass for security etc.)? Also, if my incoming flight is late and I'm unlikely be able to make the international flight, where is the best place to go at SYD to get this sorted? Over to international, or is there a specific desk at domestic?

What domestic airport? At MEL I get there early and ask for an earlier flight. Never been refused, if seats available,.
If late I would go to International. Very possible others will be in same situation.
I have made a 45 min connection T3 T1 at SYD when domestic flight from MEL was late. Checked bags also made the flight.
