Reasons to be cheerful in LHR

I flew out of LHR about 5 days after the change in rules and the threats. There were very little queues and as a J pax I was ushered through [ pretty quickly - the main problem was checking in a seeing people arguing about hand luggage. This was the biggest piece of news in the UK at that time and people (many of them seemed to be frequent flyers) just werent compliant or thought they were exempt...

The queue's were massive and most people were getting the 5th degree on every part of their carry on.

The good part of it was there no problem getting room for carryon luggage.

We were told we could carry almost nothing on, unless it was small or in a plastic bag. I can't remember whether we were allowed a book or not. Most people didn't complain, but then some did. And 2 security screenings and a pat-down.

It was also sad being in the AA lounge in LHR too - some very frightened people hoping to get home.

Meantime, we flew home to find AN was no more - another story!
