I don't think I have ever had a celebration on the actual day in recent memory.

Last time my birthday was on a Saturday, a friend "stole" the day, so my "party" was two weeks later.

I think you should just declare it is your Birth Month, and celebrations can be had on any or all days :)

I was here this week, but a very full week of work, so not much time for socialising.

Should be back in ~2 weeks.

This is actually really inconvenient for me, but I think/hope I can probably wrangle some penegal magic to make it work.

Mr Penegal we are indeed pleased that you may wave some Penegal magic to attend this event. Especially since CE has gone to such trouble to organise it in your honour. I understand that if for some unbelievable reason you can't make it a dozen of your best reds delivered to the restaurant will ease our sorrow. :)
