I have been acumulating a lot of Altitude points ( westpac) .

Just a little confused on which frequent Flyer program is the best?
I did join Kris flyer.

I was wondering, do i keep my points with the bank till i want to use them?? and move them to either Qantas or Kris flyer as i need to use them. I want to use the point just for travel.

Personally I keep my points in my credit card until I use them just to have some flexibility (never know when an airline might suddenly change its points programme).

If the credit card company ever changes its points conversion rate (usually for the worse!) they almost always (if not always) give you advance notice so that you can convert them before that becomes the case.

Personally, I'll take Qantas FF over Kris programme any day.

Can Altitude points go to Virgin Atlantic as the redemption rates on them seem pretty good.

Can you explain why Qantas FF is better than Kris?

To Ralph's post my advice would be as per Jobu's - keep them in Altitude as long as possible. Then when you want to transfer to make a flight - do so. There are four options that give you good coverage at the same conversion ratio - Qantas FF, Krisflyer, Malaysian Enrich & Virgin Blue Velocity. (Also NZ - are available - but difficult to compare to others). Before converting you can get an idea (if you are a member of these programs - and the last three are free to join) if your desired redemption seat is available.

And I don't understand why Qantas FF would be rated better than Krisflyer. In my experience, I've been able to get a business class return to Europe on SQ using KF pts for 128,000 pts - and unable to get seats on QF for 256,000 pts on/around same days (to be fair to QF for 128K pts I could have got Y seats on those days) Or used 82K pts for Y seats on SQ to Europe. Likewise to Asia, 47K gets me return to SE Asia with stopover in SIN (if I want) on SQ. QF to BKK no stopover 60K. No brainer really, but each to their own.
