For those of us who are preppers and/or require to test weekly for COVID due to underlying health condition, I thought I'd share a sale at HealthLife is running on RATs that may be of interest. Most of the tests they have available are discounted 20%. Of particular interest is a 20 pack of RATs on sale presently for $99 (which works out to under $5/test) and is the lowest price I've seen thus far (and the brand is LYHER 2SAN) which the TGA states has a very high sensitivity.

Hope someone finds this info useful.

They'll be crushed and used as kids playground flooring and roadbase next year. Certain states will still be having deliveries and paying for them next year only to dump them the next day in the trash or recycling depot at their cost. Don't get me started on the half billion dollar quarantine jails being built around the country that will be unused.

Maybe but for the moment they are useful.

Let's hope that COVID goes away soon. But we've all been saying two more weeks to flatten the curve for coming on to 2 months now and I doubt this Groundhog Day will be ending anytime soon.

For me, who has a suppressed immune system and suffers from an autoimmune illness, knowing that I have COVID is crucial (even if I'm asymptomatic). It means I can pick up the phone call NSW Health and get treatment right away before anything bad happens. All the data we have so far shows that someone who is up to date on COVID vaccines, then seeks treatment at the outset of getting COVID is unlikely to suffer any serious complications. Keep in mind, all my relatives and family live overseas. If I end up getting hospitalized, that will put quite the strain on them.

At this point, all I care about is myself. We've put too much faith in people doing the right thing, and clearly that has backfired. I will continue living my life as normal as can be expected, but I can't afford to get COVID. If that means having to pay extra to sit up front on the plane, wearing an N95 respirator, or travelling at awkward times when things aren't as busy so be it. I refuse to sit in a prison at home, (as some colleagues who are in similar situations to me have done) to wait this one out. I have the knowledge and tools to keep me safe, and having access to COVID testing when I need it and where I need it is crucial.

Niece who has lupus and APS developed Covid last week and was given the infusion in hospital. Helped a lot. We both share these auto immune illnesses and agree that prompt action is very important. I ordered some oral ones just today and partner has just had sinus surgery and can't have a nasal/PCR test.

Hopefully I don't need an infusion should I ever get COVID. In fact, it's my goal to stay away from hospitals as much as possible since the risk of picking something up in a hospital is significant. From what I am reading the oral treatments are quite effective against COVID. I'm curious though how you managed to order the oral treatments ahead of time? It's my understanding that they can only be had once you test positive.

Oral RAT not treatment. Sorry - I mixed up the two a little in my post. The infusions can as you say only ordered once positive and presenting with severity.
