Radar down South of Sydney

Sitting on board VA flight to Canberra and pilot just advised that all departures from Sydney south are suspended due to air traffic radar system failure. He is hoping for only a 15 min delay.

Imaging some very busy IT people this morning!

Apparently it was a fire alarm and the building was evacuated.

What are Air Traffic Controls contingency plans?
