Question re Trying to Flight change times MEL- (Syd) and onto HNL

Just an update on this, did post a note to Social Media and Q call centre contacted me, as a WP they offered to drop the charge to $200 (presume this was a re issue fee for the ticket) I declined and will see if I can get on an earlier flight in Melbourne, does anyone know should I ask at check in or in the business lounge for the possibility of an earlier flight.

Ask either at the ticket sales desk or checkin. Don't check bags in on current flight then ask in the lounge as they won't move you if you've already checked in your luggage.

Just a quick update on this, turned up at MEL airport and went to Service Sales desk and asked the CSR about getting on an earlier flight, she told me it would cost me "very big dollars" to do the change, she obviously was not having a good day at MEL airport looked like being the last place she wanted to be at, but she did suggest I ask when I checked our bags in. So checked the batgs and asked the lady there and she was fabulous no problems at all and no cost so we got to Sydney and spent a good few hours in the First Lounge. When we arrived back at Sydney, we were asked if we wanted an earlier flight so scored that too back to Melbourne, finished off a fabulous trip to Hawaii, thanks OZ for your assistance.

We actually opted for the gelato..which was lovely but I had the Grilled Barramundi, we shared some Salt & Pepper Squid and OH went on to have the Black Angus Minute Steak..it was lovely
Hawaii was great, we have been going nearly every year for 20 years and have seen some changes over that time and lots of building of new apartments going on now, plus SAKS 5th Avenue in Waikiki which should be ready next year, Ala Moana is being extended too to house Bloomingdales, so its all go over there. We found Lanaki Beach this time
We generally stay at the Zoo end of Waikiki and I think now that's the best, the Beach Walk and new condos etc are so busy and noisy. But if your in Hawaii anywhere is good
