Hi ! I m not sure I m posting this at the right place, but I d like to know how should I do to valid my miles when I just joined but flew already. I ve got my bording pass receipts.
In other words, are my miles still ok to be counted and what should I do for them to appear on my card ?
Thank you
Cecile :p

Welcome!

You didn't specify which Frequent Flyer scheme you were interested in, so I am assuming Qantas (based on common usage of this site). Some other FF schemes have similar policies.

From the Qantas website:

Answer
Earning points on flights taken before joining the Frequent Flyer program
Question
Can I earn points on flights taken before I joined the Qantas Frequent Flyer program?
Answer
You can receive points for any eligible flights you've taken up to 30 days before your enrolment date.

Simply send copies of boarding passes and tickets by email, fax or post to the Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

If you have another scheme in mind, let us know and we'll try and get the right answer.

Thx for this answer, actually I didn t specify cause I m not sure about it. I ve got miles from BA and Vietnam airlines but starting 2 and 1/2 months ago, so I guess it s not going to be possible to validate them. :(

A question in line with the thread title not really in line with the original post. But rather than starting a new thread . . .

I've reached the number of QFF SCs this membership year that I was chasing but there is a possibility I may get a couple more QF flights before my new year begins. To avoid "wasting" the SCs would the following be possible:
  1. Book a flight using my QFF number (so as to get the better seat allocation)
  2. At check-in forthis flight, ask the agent to remove my number from the booking
  3. Once my year rolls over, submit my boarding passes for crediting in the new year (rather than when they were actually earned)?

Typically won't work. The flights will be credited in the previous year, and maybe have a little ## which reflects that they count in the previous year.

They do count for Lifetime Status

Qantas are alert to this and simply backdate the SC's.

When SC's post after your "Year" has finished, on your transaction statement you get a ‡ symbol beside the number with a footnote:

Status credits for this flight are not included in the current year total.
