Quest Launceston Apartments guests shocked at sudden hotel kick out​

GUESTS at a hotel in Launceston have been forced to leave the hotel and find other accommodation, after receiving a letter under their doors last night.

Between 6pm and 9pm, guests were informed their reservations would be cancelled immediately, due to unforeseen circumstances.

“We write to inform you that from 15 May 2021, Quest Launceston Apartments ceased to operate from these premises,” the letter reads.

“The Premises will operate as a letting agency in near future under Launceston (Paterson Street) Tenancy Pty Ltd.”

We had already left for Strahan when the letter was put under the door. My agent had prepaid.
I only checked in on 21/5 ie after the date that Quest stopped operating.
Makes sense now that they were taking out cartons of water and soft drinks on Thursday. The morning papers stopped then as well.

I hope chargers are laid.

ABC radio news this morning said “ full refunds “ to be made. Not sure how that gels with the company in administration?

Though my booking was made when it still was a Quest though didn't check in until after Quest had severed their relationship.
Anyway fortunately that part is not my worry.
Moving to a shoe box though is.

I think it is because it is the franchisee that is in administration. Quest (as franchisor) are stepping in to help out with refunds and staff wages
