I thought I’d create a thread for any members (and even non-members) that will be travelling to ZQN this winter to ski and après-ski ;)

Social gatherings in other cities are great, but are generally confined to a single day/night, however as people come and go at different times of the season I thought a thread with dates might be of use, to make it easier to see who’s in town when you are.

There are so many bars, restaurants and even mountains too, that suggestions and recommendations as the season progresses could be usefully posted here.

So far Coronet Peak and Snow Farm have opened, The Remarkables is opening on the 19th, Treble Cone on the 24th, Cardrona on the 25th and Snow Park on the 26th.

There’s plenty of snow, and conditions look to be perfect (although there has already been an avalanche in the Back Bowls of Coronet Peak).

Please post dates you’ll be in town below, and if you’re going to be in Wanaka or the surrounding area, good to know too, as it’s only a short drive away.

Yes or valuables in the hideously expensive Condo on Queenstown Hill. Last comment aimed at little shreks lol:)

I arrive Thursday 22 July Air NZ ? flight number don't know.
Depart Sunday 25 July JQ to AKL at 9:00am?
BB,

Just when you thought it was safe.

It is quite feasable that we can be in ZQN for a couple of nights and leave on the 25th July also. :D :D

He’ll be staying with me, so we’ll all have to meet-up ;)

Right, I have arrived in ZQN and it’s bloody freezing here! There are a couple new bars, I’d recommend the Ballarat Trading Co. for a good atmosphere and interesting decor, though prices seemed to be a bit high.

Most nights you’ll find me at Brazz, opposite the village green (near KFC) at the bar. Happy hour is 5-6 (5-7 for me). Come say hello.

Because Air NZ couldn't get me a flight at a price I wanted to pay I ended up using more points on a flight from AKL-ZQN on Jetstar does anyone know if a Qantas Platinum can use the Jetstar lounge in Auckland.

I want it to be cold but there needs to be snow; and lets hope that Jeff did well at the casino in the US.

Per, 1.9. Platinum Qantas Frequent Flyer members and Chairmans Lounge members may present a current membership card as a valid form of Gold Coast Lounge or Ākarana Lounge entry pass for themselves and 2 guests travelling on a qualifying flight. Bronze, Silver and Gold Qantas Frequent Flyer members and Qantas Club members travelling in economy must purchase entry.

Is Jeff still coming down? I know Will isn’t, and now I head Bill isn’t either, bugger :(
