QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

JL seems to have already adjusted its CDG-HND schedule for December to account for the need to avoid Russian airspace, and that flight is currently running as a daily service. HND-SYD for December should also be fairly safe.

I think you'll be fine - just keep an eye out in case of any schedule changes that require Qantas to reissue the ticket! :)
Cheers! I've been obsessively checking my bookings weekly since making it to make sure it's still in my portfolio. Not sure I'll feel totally at ease until I'm sat in the plane on the final leg. (Rather have been on QR though, of course!!)

I'm booked in J reward seats on JL in Dec CDG-HND-SYD - do you think JL's a dicey move? :/
Not if the layover is ok (and obviously no airport transfer required  as we saw on another thread...). That combo back to SYD is manageable it's the flight over to Euro that usually requires an o/n - which isn't practical still. Hopefully soon though!

It took me 4 calls for an operator to finally say they can see the award seats with another airline I was seeing on the Qantas multi city search. I am not sure what the first 3 were doing wrong, but I did get help in the end. All I can say, is call again and see what happens.

Was this for a Qatar Airways award flight (using Qantas points)? When are you travelling?

Frustrating to see FIRST availability on the BA website (using Avios), but nothing on QF web - rang, and South African operator says definitely no availability visible her end either.
I found some award seats but couldn't book them online, because of starting in a country without a supported currency.
So I called up and the first 3 times, I got told "I can't see those flights".
The 4th time I got lucky, and the lady was fantastic. She instantly found the flights and booked them for me.

So just keep trying, and hopefully you find the right person.
BTW, they were all Fiji Call Centre staff, including the one who got it sorted in the end.

No unfortunately, due to the lack of those, is why I needed this other flight to get home from Europe.
I actually managed to grab 2 QSuites for my trip to Europe for June. They weren't there, then all of a sudden about 6 weeks worth popped up, and started selling, but all of a sudden about 5 days later, they all just disappeared as you have mentioned before.

But are your flights QR flights? What month?
To get home from Europe next year, I am returning in August, but can't fly to Aus. So going via Asia for a few days.

Good that you were able to book something in the end through the call centre. :) But from your post it sounds like they were not Qatar Airways flights.

As yet I still haven't heard of anyone being able to book a QR flight that isn't available online (e.g. for travel next June/July/August) over the phone with Qantas. It doesn't sound like that would be possible.

Correct, my comment was more to say that keep trying because different operators gave me different answers. So hopefully someone can help with the BA flights that post was talking about.

Any experience with a Reissue Request to QR? Had QR flight 1 cancelled & moved to next day (J) which misses the married QR flight 2 connection. Only option may be in Y for a rescheduled flight 2.

Officially, QR is supposed to rebook you if they cancelled the original flight as this is an involuntary change.

Good luck actually reaching someone at Qantas to action this, though...

It's a shame that all the old fashioned "norms" are out-the-window now. Also, from experience QR have a great product, but absolutely terrible backend service in the event of something going wrong.

from going CBR - DOH - MAN qsuites all the way for 159,000 to instead trying to bounce around half of asia to get anywhere near business and looking at over 200k instead all because Qantas cant get their cough together with Qatar. So annoying.

Airline travel may free up if COVID is out of the way - no more pilots call in sick..??

We were looking at something similar BNE-DOH-EDI in QSuites for mid next year. Ending up booking BNE-SYD QF J, SYD-SIN BA W and SIN-CDG AF J. Figured if we get to CDG can have a few days there and then head to EDI (maybe train to London and then Edinburgh). Not ideal but can live with it and if something better comes up can cancel. I am seeing QR availability out of Asia but only economy. Also seeing EK availability out of Asia (via DXB ) in premium cabins but dates from Aus don’t always line up.

The good news is that award searches on the Cathay Pacific website seem to be working again. The bad news is that there doesn’t seem to be any Qatar award availability there either. I did a very limited search (Melbourne-Doha only) but for almost every day from May 2023 to August 2023. No Business class redemptions at all on either of the two daily MEL-DOH flights. Hoping against hope that Qatar is holding back its award seats out of Australia until the Velocity partnership is online…

Yesterday QR award availability on QF web was only upto 05MAY, today it's progressed to 06MAY.
My searches also show no premium class availability on QF web - however premium was visible on BA using Avios (for example First class on 01MAY SYD-DOH). I am needing QR, as no other oneworld airline services Georgia/Azerbaijan/Turkmenistan/Uzbekistan/Kyrgyzstan/Kazakhstan like QR does.
