I am so happy. My summer flights are now sorted.

The new QR904 offers a superior timing by arriving AKL before 7am, which offers perfect connection with Cathay Pacific's seasonal CX128 with a quick shower stop at Qantas Auckland lounge.

The return flight timing is super perfect, which you can check out hotel in Auckland, go and have a shower and lie flat, get fed on the way to Melbourne. No more worries for whether my B789 will be swapped with A333 on Qantas.

Change at Melbourne for a seamless same terminal transfer to Sydney and Brisbane.

Perhaps Jetstar should consider scrapping JQ217 and Codeshare with Qatar airways, so to allow Business travellers to arrive Auckland early.

Melbourne to Auckland has historically always had terrible timings. Virgin had a morning departure back the day. Qantas luckily still do.

Jetstar have always had terrible times. 😵

Brutal times for those looking to just fly Melbourne to Auckland
Not quite if you are having Q Suites with them.
When you have a strict policy of never fly Economy Class in and out of Australia, then even just a short flight into Auckland will make it so enjoyable with lie flat bed and anytime dining.

Yes, better than being in whY but too short to really enjoy. ATD will be be very limited!

The flight back however is very civilised.
That would mean too much co-operation between the Qantas group an their best buddy QR.
If anything, it might have a VA code.

Disappointing to lose this again but still the best way to get to AKL and back.
With a connection to/from MEL it will also get us some good QPoints

Wonder when this will.be bookable via QR. I had a look. Saw nothing.

Love the optimism and hope you get to fly it. Think I'll take a full night sleep instead of just under 3 hours in the Qsuite.

ET just leaked it will be BNE-AKL as well, with the QR prime flights taking over the current VA wetlease slots.

If they give up their NZ alliance - not that there's much to give up.

These aren't a bad option for DONE4s if you don't need the QF SCs (P1).

Or aren’t crediting them to QF
Much easier to get the QR segments too if you are short any year. Definitely will come in handy
They might actually be a decent earn with VA (with QR code) if I’ve interpreted the entrails of a goat correctly. Possibly 70 SCs(?) v 40 with QF.

Apparently could be a sweet spot after VA crippled their partner earn with “Simpler & Fairer” Mk2 aka “Complex & Nastier”.

Already bookable for dates from 7 Dec until Feb for now. Qatar Airways NW26 Oceania Service Revision – 22JUL26 — AeroRoutes

As LionKing mentioned this is really wonderful for me as well, since I try to visit HKG AKL these days in the same trips.
Price wise for the dates that I would like to go look rather expensive however, around $3.2k return.

EDIT: the Aeroroutes link was already included in the first post, apologies.
