QR A388 to PER from May 2018

It is being reported that QR are bringing the A388 to PER from 01 May 2018.

Qatar Airways' Airbus A380 to fly Perth-Doha from May 2018

I certainly would not have picked this as one would think there is more 'high yielding' routes than PER-DOH that QR could have deployed the A388 on.

A nice upgrade however over the non Qsuite 77W currently operating...

As for motives behind the move, I would think it would involve trying to hurt the other 2 ME carriers flying out of PER...
