QATAR - A380 to Perth from May 1 2018

As the title says QR will replace the B777 on the Doha - Perth route with an A380 from 1 May 2018 Qatar Airways' Airbus A380 to fly Perth-Doha from May 2018

I have a trip booked on that route in early October 2018 and looking at my booking the aircraft type has already been updated to reflect the use of the A380. This is good news for me - and all travelers on that route - as the A380 is set up in the newer 1 2 1 J layout rather than the older 2 2 2 of the B777. And, the 4 trips I have done on the A380 - in SQ Y exit rows seats have been a good introduction to the attributes of the A380..

It also means that my wife & I no longer have to sit next to each other after a month long overseas trip but can luxuriate in our aloofness.

This is fantastic news! Going to make life difficult for QF's direct flight to LHR I think. Better product all round in J and a bar.

Finally OW F flights out of PER too.

Agree entirely. Not sure why you'd bother with QF J unless you absolutely had to save a few hours off the flight time.

Wonderful albeit somewhat bizarre news. First passengers aren't exactly in for an F experience at the QF lounge in Perth.

Interesting point. You could almost expect QF to be tossers and reduce SC and points earn on QR, just like with MH.
