On Wednesday 16 August 2017, QQ862, a scheduled 0815 hours Alliance Airlines flight from BNE to BAL (Batman in Turkey) is supposedly operating according to FR24, with takeoff at 0830 hours.

However this F70 (VH-NKU) lacks the range to get there in one hop. The FlightAware website, in contrast, suggests the flight is proceeding to Ballera Airport (code BBL) that is close to the Moomba oil and gas fields, which is far more likely.

How can FR 24 get it so wrong?

Yes. It is Ballera gas field in south west QLD.. Alliance does 2 FIFO flights to Ballera in F70's. One ex BNE and one ex ADL. FR24 usually shows the ADL flight as Batman as well.
