Hello

I am looking at booking a flight on SQ ex LHR T3, same terminal as QF.
As a WP am I able to access the above lounges if not flying on QF/BA?
Its an associated lounge? so not sure.

Regards

David

There is no QP at Heathrow. The T3 lounge is operated by BA (and of course there is the CX and AA lounges as well).

So anytime access by definition doesn't exist for QF WP's. Not sure of the reality in practice.

Of course if flying oneworld, then you will have access - But I'm assuming you're planning to fly a different airline outside of oneworld.

Only if you are travelling on a oneworld carrier. Anytime access only applies to actual QPs.

no, you can't. you need to be travelling on a OW operated flight to be able to use the lounge. same rule will apply for the J lounge.

Unfortunately QF does not have a lounge in the UK/Europe. All lounges are associated lounges so as mentioned no lounge access if not flying Oneworld carriers.

Sometimes even legitimate access is not easy. When I was on the RTW trip with dad we rocked up to the lounge at LHR T5 and I showed the boarding passes and my QF Platinum card. The lady at reception picked up that my card had expired (I forgot to swap the cards over) and told me so. It did not matter that my BA boarding pass had Oneworld Emerald on it she rang through to Qantas to confirm that I was indeed still a Platinum.

We were in CHC last week and same situation, the person in front of us had an expired card and the associate lounge front desk person rang Q to confirm they were still a member. :o Even thought it was printed on their boarding pass.

PS the associate lounge in Christchurch is begger than the old one less to drink, similar (slightly better) food, mini pies, nibbles etc but overall a good lounge.

You must have been in NZ for a while, you have picked up a NZ accent in your postings :)

Re the expired card but it's printed on the BP. That isn't much help. I was at SIN as an AA Plat checking in. My F number wasn't on teh booking (or something like that) so my BP was Blank so I asked them to put it in - up pops "AADvantage Platinum OW Emerald" which was in fact accepted by the lounge dragons and I got access to the F lounge when I was not entitled.

Anything could be put on the BP : Changing A Southwest Boarding Pass

Only give access to those who are entitled.*

Yes I do note the irony of me advocating restrictions given that one two occasions I have accessed F lounges when not entitled
