I do wonder why QF boards both the general and priority queue simultaneously for domestic flights. Would it be that hard to board everybody in the priority queue (ensuring they are supposed to be there), before the first person in the general queue is boarded? The current system simply doesn't work.

It is not hard at all. Priority boarding works very well on the 'purple' side....

Just boarded QF922 to CNS. On arrival at gat the priority boarding line 3 times that of regular line, a minute later 2 lovely ground crew ladies came along to police the line, they were ruthless, went from like 50 people to 9 in under a minute.so they can enforce rules when they choose.

But once again that is ground crew. This should be cabin crew doing this on domestic flights, it's simply not good enough.

So like most things Qantas, Sydney seems to be the favourite son.
Have never seen this at MEL.

No. I don’t agree
How is this a function of cabin crew to oversee?
They are doing enough as it is such as assessing a passengers fitness to fly, checking passengers adherence to cabin baggage policy, ensuring the boarding pass is scanned correctly, not to mention welcoming high tier passengers back by name ....now you expect them to “queue comb” as well !!
How about the airline hire some more ground staff and let them control premium boarding seeing as it’s still something that occurs on the ground therefore making it the responsibility of ground staff.

Here’s a third perspective:

Having spent large amounts of money with an airline to attain elite status, I just want the airline to provide the published benefit. I don’t care if it’s cabin crew, ground crew or AJ himself enforcing it.

My sentiments precisely - though I now have a worrying image in my head of Mrs Brown walking the premium line telling interlopers to f-off ... !! It can only be Friday!

BD

Any indication on why the rejected were in priority to begin with by their reactions?

Numpties that dont fly often so just joined a queue or FFers that dont have status/once were warriors and know the queues are not policed?

About 20 were a group of Japanese tourists, some of which had already snuck into the priority queue at security screening. Most of the others looked like locals who ought to have been able to read the signs.

Lady behind me in the queue alao commented what a rarity it was to have the lines enforced.

Maybe they are listening.
Recent flights ex MEL, PER, BNE had both early calls for priority and enforcement of the premium line.
It is a start - congratulations where it is due.
