I booked a classic award through the Qantas web site and found that although the booking is associated with my qff number, my WP status is not taken into account for seat selection and doesn't appear on my boarding pass. This seems a bit poor to me, given that the points used are earnt not gifted to me!

That also seems unusual to me.

Have you actually rung QF and asked about this?

There seems to be a bug with some of these classic bookings. There have been reports of this happening recently, nor could I get my partners QFF number to stick.

As an aside, because my award is booked ex-HKG, I can not change it online can I?

I had a similar issue on some classic award redemptions recently. I sent an email to the WP1 desk and they managed to get my QFF number into the booking (and moved me to the seats I wanted). I'm sure a quick call to the WP desk would yield the same result.

There must be a bug in the system - I'm sure this is not deliberate.
