Is there a RTW award available with QFF? I don't see one on the QFF website, but I think someone mentioned one before.

If so, what are the RTW fare types available, and what is the point cost for the different classes of service?

Thanks a lot!

This has been discussed many times on this board. If you do a search for RTW it should list the threads where it may have been discussed.

Link to the qantas website where it is explained in more detail oneworld Award table.

It is based on miles travelled with the maximum permitted miles being 35,000. You must use 2 other oneworld carriers other than QF for this award which is not hard to do. The points required in the different classes of service are also explained. Taxes and charges will depend on the routing you choose but if you budgetted ~A$500 you won't be too far off the mark.

For the shorter intineraries this might be a bit tricky!
Zone: 1
Return Miles: 0-1,200
Economy: 32,500
Business: 62,500
First: 92,500

For the shorted itineraries there is not need to use the OneWorld award. QF offers different type of awards, including QF and partner awards for the cases where only QF or QF and a single partner airline are used.

Note that the OneWorld Award has some slightly different rules, especially relating to changes. No changes at all are permitted after the first flight has been taken. So make sure you have appropriate travel insurance because if you miss a flight for any reason other than a delayed connecting flight in the same itinerary, QF and the other airlines are under no obligation to get you onto an alternate flight - even if there is award inventory. The rules are very clear and usually enforced.

Mmmm. I was actually wondering how one'd go about squeezing three oneWorld carriers into such a short trip. In fact, I venture to say that it's impossible in Australia!

There is no need in Australia. Just use the standard QF award.

The OneWorld Award does permit the use of two non-QF airlines and no QF flights, which may be useful for short flight in Europe. For example you might use EI for LHR-DUB and DUB-CDG and then BA for CDG-LHR. That is under 1200 miles and using two other OneWorld Airlines. Europe is about the only place I could see the <1200 miles flavour being used.

When someone mentions RTW automatically I think zone 7 and above and it should not be too hard to use 3 oneworld airlines including QF.

I am not even sure if you can fit a true RTW in under zone 9 so my assumptions were based on zone 10. And if you go that far you may as well use up your 35,000 mile allowance, the worst that could happen is an an extra couple hundred bucks on taxes and charges.
