In light of the partner earn changes being a QFF primarily based outside Australia is no longer viable. I am now planning to contact BA and CX requesting matches - leaning toward BA for lifetime earn, although in HKG CX would be better for points accumulation.

How many people on this forum have matched from QFF to another oneworld programme and completely shifted their earning to that?

Im in exactly the same boat, now europe focussed. Pretty much all Y flying, just made OWE this year for first time. Very interested in any success you have.

Maybe we could do one of those 'bulk buy' deals with an airline and get a match if we promise to bring xyz number of status pax across, even if we had to pay say $100 to show we had some skin in the game and werent wasting their time...

I am thinking that unless you can show "Significant" travel/revenue the only realistic option would be AAdvantage via a Gold/Platinum challenge.

I have no hope of fulfilling the 4 AA ~ requirement though. At least with BA I will probbaly have one London trip a year and can always come to MEL via SIN to use the BA service and fly SIN-SYD-MEL on BA code.

CX will status match QF WP to CX PS or, if your lucky SG. If you have significant travel in your statements on routes they service and can show forward bookings on CX then every now and again they will match to WP, but that's rare,

Another thing to remember with AA is there's no soft landing if you don't make the grade next year so you'd go from WP to nothing overnight ie rooster one day feather duster the next.

I matched QF WP to CX PS - even if you dont go with MPC you should maintain Asia Miles as well for all the lovely HK CC welcome offers :)

Remember, though, that the four AA flights can be done on AA codeshares, of which there are many on QF.
