2] Is there any way to keep existing cards & still fly qantas say through One world Alliance

G'day ajackson, welcome to AFF. :D

If you wish to continue to accumulate to QFF, you will need to replace/upgrade your gold card, but you won't need to replace your Platinum card.

FWIW, I have a Platinum card.

If you wish to pay the $19 PA fee, you can opt in to "Citi Qantas Rewards" and have all points earned automatically transferred to Qantas Frequent Flyer Each month.

If you do this before April 1 2009, you will be able to transfer your existing points to Qantas Frequent Flyer. Once done, all earned points will continue go to QFF.

If you do this after April 1 2009, you will not be able to transfer your existing points to Qantas Frequent flyer, however you will still have other redemption options such as Velocity and Kris Flyer.

Personally, I will not be paying the $19 annual fee - also my use of this card will be for emergency only - since mine is "fee free for 'life' ", it will cost me nothing to do this.
