QFF points on Air Pacific

Does anybody know whether I can use QFF points to upgrade on Air Pacific. I thought that I could and sent an email to AP asking and received a reply about 10 minutes later saying I could but had to organise through Qantas. I called Qantas and waited ages before being told that I could not use them. I have since spoken to a number of friends who were under the same understanding that I was in that I am able to use them.Three days ago I sent an email to QFF asking the question but have received no reply (wonderful customer service). I figured it was a good idea to ask on here where I will probably get an answer in minutes.

I believe upgrades are only on QF marketed and operated flights.

ie. QF flight umber AND QF aircraft.

So QF flight number but AP aircraft = not eligible.

Similarly an AA codeshare on QF metal would not be eligible.
