Hi guys,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section but has anyone had issues with being awarded their Qantas Frequent Flyer points whilst providing at hotels for their stays?

I have stayed in about 8-9 different hotels around the country within the past 9 months and all of them have been listed as accepting QFF for stays at their hotel (mainly Novotels and etc). I always have provided QFF card upon arrival AND upon checking out. Also noted it down on forms if provided with the opportunity. Only Novotel in Brisbane I was denied use of my QFF card because they apparently didnt accept anymore and only took A-Club/Le Club cards (which I knew was not true but didnt bother arguing too much over).

My issue is that with all but one of these stays (Novotel Melbourne), the points have never been awarded until I brought it up with QFF Customer Service. I waited the expected 6-8 week timeframe, sometimes even 3-4 months and still no points. So now each time I contact customer care with pretty much the same template email, scan my invoice and kindly ask for the points. I have spoken to them on the phone about this and they can see on their logs that its been a regular occurence for me but have not really had the same issues with other customers - not sure about the validity of that claim though, hence why I am asking here!

Thanks for your input guys ;)

AFAIK there is no difference between points earned through the hotels program and points earned by flashing your card, with the exception that the hotel program gives extra benefits and status beenies etc, so I would always recommend using the hotel program (unless the hotel does not participate - like BNE sofitel etc.)

Some years ago I got tired of Accor Hotels not awarding me Qantas points, and at that time points on my ANZ credit card.
After many complaints to Accor, none of which were answered, I wrote to Accor, ANZ, and Qantas.
Qantas awarded me all missing points, ANZ gave me 5000 points for my trouble, and Accor again failed to respond.
After that I gave up on Accor awarding Qantas points, and only stayed at Accor hotels where they really suited me.
I book the Accor Hotel on the Qantas website, and in that situation Qantas award the points, not Accor.
Points may take a month to credit but never had a problem.
