QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Or maybe have it in the form of a redeemable instrument.
Something like United's PlusPoints system would be sensible. Elite members get a number of points that can be used to upgrade flights to premium cabins, it can be done fully online and is much more transparent.

MYC-xSYD-HND for Feb 26 was showing 1 J seat available, phoned and got a second successfully.

Maracay Airport, Escuela Mariscal Sucre (MYC/SVBS)

But well done!

Yes, but have you ever been successful in using them to upgrade to business. I haven't.

Success for all my outbound and inbound options as a solo traveller on a booking from SYD to MEL (D>U) for the start of Jan; but... for my family, who were on a separate PNR, I could only get the inbound leg approved, and so I needed to change the plans around a bit to suit.

Ended up with all of us on an early morning flight in U for the outbound (this was publicly available), and then we're on a D>U release for the afternoon 332 service home a couple of days later. Availability for the 2 outbound options I requested were both J7 C7 D5 I3. The inbound was J9 C9 D7 I0.

Cheers,
Matt.

Success after manual review for 1 seat in Business on QF1 SYD-SIN and 1 seat in First on QF2. Both in early February.

Requests were both put in for first last Friday evening at F9 A9 in both directions. By the time it was looked at this morning QF1 was F7 A7. Irony is my mum had paid for 1 of those seats but I doubt that had much of an effect. Business I9 on the flight.

I am not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, but the VIP team is now Hobart and Auckland.

The Auckland team are hopeless, they have messed up every booking we have spoken to them about and cannot see the same fares that we can online. I cannot believe that when we speak to them about a return first saver fare to Singapore costing 8,222 on the website, she quotes 10.5k and says the Sydney Singapore leg is in business. Just wtf.

Bot rejected 2 x J for QF33/34 PER-CDG-PER for September 2026 (non-school holiday days).

I ended up biting the bullet and burning points on classic plus rewards. We've tended lately to pay for our oneworld tix as I am chasing LTP and as things currently stand about 3 years away. I'd been sitting on a million pts for years that weren't getting used so I thought we may as well get some (if very poor) value from them. I ended burning the points on the outbound leg (just before the end of the membership year and after I'd qualified for WP again) and paying for the return leg (which is in a new membership year, so SP for me).

Why don’t you keep the request in place and then call up when you’ve got a spare few moments every now and then to see if it can be put through? Would only need to pay the change fee instead, and get the exorbitant classic rewards plus price back.

Well, tried again.

Requested any date between 16th - 24th of September for 1x J - again, all declined. I class available on all dates to varying degrees, some were I3 but some were I7. Impressive.

Couldn't even get Y released for 18th - 20th September. They really don't like SIN-PER. I think the only logical solution is to status run for P1 just for this, right?
Tried again again for 27/28 October for 1xJ SIN-PER - both approved. Took the 28th.

I did previously look for QF34 CDG-PER for either 1xJ or 1xW on any date in October up to the 27th - all were rejected, all had at least I5 T6, but no luck. Probably would get released closer to departure, but was a little surprised.

I don't think it has any bearing, but I was adding to an existing booking. It is school holidays tbf.
