QFF on EK & General routing & general questions

Hi guys,

Im currently doing an itinerary for August / September next year in J points:

Syd - HK
HK - CDG
FCO - DXB
DXB - SYD

SYD - HK I'm looking at CX162
HK - CDG CX261
FCO - DXB I'm trying to get EK0098
DXB -SYD - haven't got that far - any suggestions?

I can't seem to get myself from Rome - Dubai on that EK flight, it keeps trying to send me either via Amman on RJ or London on BA/QF .. Do i need to ring? I've only been looking online.

Also, obviously be going on EK flights I can't make this a OWA is that correct? I'm happy to forgo those points for a more direct route.

Do you guys think its better to aim for the CX flight for Syd - HK - the J class seems to be nicer than whats on offer on QF127?

Not sure I can help you with a J points booking but I flew Rome to Dubai via London with BA/QF earlier this year and would gladly do it again. Slightly longer routing but it was a pleasant enough experience. If you can't get the EK flight, and can spare a few hours, go for that.

Just had a look and it seems that EK flights can't be booked on the QF site as an award from any European city to Dubai - weird. How long do you want to spend in Dubai before heading back to Sydney?

I actually did manage to find EK0098 Rome - Dubai today on QFF, but it was only one seat for next week! .. it seems they have very very limited (and maybe only completely last minute) availability.

We want to spend 3 nights in Dubai.

Perhaps you could try booking it as an Any Seat Award, or otherwise, by phoning Qantas - it's worth a shot IMHO.
