Does anyone have recent experience with crediting mileage to QFF for LHR-CPH on BA. It is important as it means the difference between 80 SCs return and 120 SCs return in business class.

GCM states the distance is 610 miles, QF website states the distance is 608 miles for calculating FF points needed to redeem awards and BA website states the distance is 594 miles for calculating miles and tier points.

Which will QF use? The BA mileage? If so, then the business class airfare does not look so appealing anymore.

Well, its certainly not recent, but in May 2000, QF credited a BA flight LHR-CPH as being 978km and posted as 684 QF FF points for am M fare (0.7 points/km).

And by my calculations, 978km is 607 miles.

Not sure it guarantees anything tough.

Thanks for that information NM. I get the feeling that QF will credit whatever distance BA sends to them.

This is too borderline to make a call without knowing the exact distance.

That is actually untrue and LGW-KEF is a prime example of when QF use their own calculaitons rather than BA's.

For LGW-KEF, it seems that QF used the Great Circle Distance of LON-KEF. So if they do likewise for LON-CPH, it would come in at 599 miles which would be very frustrating for John.

Unfortunately the QF Web Site will not advise how many points and SC's one would earn for this route as you get the error "There are no direct flights between London and Copenhagen. Use the timetable to see connecting flights between these cities.".

The Using Points function will advise the following:
Copenhagen - London (stop) 12000 [Zone]2 (608)[Miles] Economy Qantas
But, does earning and redeeming use the same distance calculation?

Until you see the points and SC's earning credit for LHR-CPH on your FF account for those 608 miles when flying one can not be certain.
