I have booked and QFF Classic Reward ticket from HKT to KIX via KUL with QFF points. (Malaysian Airlines)
I need to now cancel this flight due to change of plans, I called up Qantas last night and was told I have to call the BKK office as the taxes etc were in Thai Baht is this correct?
Thank you in advance!

The taxes are in the currency of the country the flight originates so it makes sense you would be refunded in THB. But I'm not sure why they can't handle the actual refund from here.

I don’t think you got the correct info. I called Qantas a few days ago to cancel a JAL seat booking with fees paid in Yen and the customer service rep had no problem processing it.

I cancelled an ex HKG reward booking using webchat last week. No problems.

Seems like you had a lazy agent.

As above the flight would have been ticketed in Thailand, hence the refund in Baht, but you shouldn't need to call the Thai office to cancel the booking.

Very poor advice from customer doesn't care team.

I cancelled an ex-HKG award recently over the phone but had to follow up as it looked like it was stuck in the far queue.
