I do not consider myself a serious frequent flyer like some people on this forum but I got a shock when I noticed that I have 14 different booking references (15 if I count the trip from QZW airport - QZY airport) when I log in to my FF account on the QFF site. Also my bookings are confirmed bookings, not reserved, including both paid and award tickets.

Each of the bookings are not necessarily a return trip. Some are return trips, some are one-way trips, some are part of the one trip but had to be booked seperately. The 14 booking references cover 27 flight segments.

Just interested to know how many bookings some of the higher status FFs have at anyone time. I know that a RTW (xONE or xGOLB) could have as many if not more flight segments than my total above but in theory it should/could show up as the 1 booking reference when looking at your account.

My record is 7 or so, currently sitting at 3. (that is, if I can ever log into my QF account again!). One Qantas phone CSA did comment on the amount of bookings once though!

The bookings only show trips booked (or reserved) but not completed, and only the first sector of those flights. So even the most serious FF would probably only have a few bookings - of course that depends on how they book their tickets (well in advance // last minute etc).

I remember when we did the family trip from Oz to UK & Netherlands, the return AMS - LHR code share BA/QF was shown twice! I didn't get double points, but did get 1,000 for the QF flight, rather than 222 for the BA flight on the way over!:D

I should have mentioned that my bookings are confirmed bookings, not reserved, including both paid and award tickets.

Understand and that is why I was shocked when I noticed my bookings.

Just as an example my trip to New Zealand in Jan/Feb contains 4 different booking references. SYD-AKL (this was booked through Qantas Holidays utilising a $100 voucher and a cancelled red e-deal), AKL-WEL (mini status run), WEL-CHC (min status run and cannot use multi city option in New Zealand), AKL-SYD (J class on Lan).

JohnK (I am a JonK too) I was just looking at the same thing. I currently have 12 showing. Mostly because I booked 6 BCN-LGW in J in advance (200 Euro :) ), also because my Europe - Aus returns are always booked well in advance.

I have the fewest confirmed future bookings in ages - only 8 QF ones (24 flights) and 11 non-QF (30 flights). It wasn't that long ago I had more than 100 future flights booked & ticketed, which I maintained for many months (rate of booking roughly balancing rate of taking flights)!

100 that is amazing. So you live at the airport and spend work time on the plane. Saves not needing a mortgage.

I love to fly but only do so infrequently. Have always been looking for that job that included a bit of flying but getting too old now to have a chance. When I was very young I flew in light stuff every weekend with my best mate who is now a captain with virgin blue.
Have some unofficial straight and level hours and a few turns.

Bye the way hope you enjoyed the cricket yesterday

I recently had 6, plus an award booking for Mrs Shano - making a total of 7.

Typically it is about 2 as most travel is booked relatively last minute.

I'm with you Shano - once I would have 4-6 on there, even booking 2-3 weeks in advance. Now, I've got 2 - 1 for me and 1for the MIL (who has transferred the points to me BTW). I can't see there being much more than that, unless a RTW trip lobs.

100 trips makes the QFF site more like a life management site!

No that was 100 flights (probably under 50 bookings) and spread across several airlines. That said I did have quite a bit more than this at one stage with "my bookings" listings more than 1 page on 3 different airlines. No wonder I have to keep a spreadsheet to keep my travels straight - where am I off to today?

I currently have 14 bookings, of which 2 are not showing on the QF "Your Bookings" page (1 x NZ & 1 x JQ).

My record was 24 back in July '04 where during a sale I had snaffled series of particularly inexpensive fares going through 'till Feb 2005. (e.g. MEL-SYD-MEL on QF for $117, SYD-BNE-SYD for $114) Back in those days for my semi-monthly MEL-SYD-BNE meets I would nest a MEL-SYD-MEL around a SYD-BNE-SYD. This gave 40 SC rather than MEL-SYD-BNE-MEL which only returned 30.

For me it is sitting on a personal high of 5.
1 work and 4 leisure which will all disappear by the end of January. After that I think I will be grounded until the honeymoon and I will need to get 150 more SC by the end of May to get SG....now JohnK gave me an idea....

I now have none showing on QF - I think my TA is starting to realise that I dont use my QF number any more :)

My record is only 4 I think. I dont book far in advance (not cost effective I know) - or at least havent this year. Once next year's budget is approved and I allocate responsibility for booking travel to me (rather than a nominated buyer) I will lock in next year's bookings on about January 10!

I did have a bunch of bookings through on my last trip to the US that appeared on the AA website (there was a couple of AA flights which might have triggered it) but also a number of non-AA flights.

I should only have 6 trips max next year (4 asia and two substantial (by my standards not KiwiFlyer/DN/NM standards) RTW) and none of them will show on QF :)

But then I would have to add my QFF number then surely? the reason they arent on the QF website is that I am using my AA number.

Nup, that link is similar to www.checkmytrip.com in that it simply uses the Amadeus booking reference. (Once you book a QF flight an Amadeus reference is allocated).

You can add a QF ff number if that is your desire, but this is not necessary.

It's similar to the 7 AA segments I had on my DONE4 this year; I needed to directly look them up on AA.com using the sabre reference as I had my QFF number assigned to them, not an AAdvantage number.

You can still see it on the QF FF My Bookings page even if your QF FF number is not in the booking. You just need to enter the Amadeus booking reference and your surname and it will show up. You can even then waitlist for upgrades etc.

If you don't know the Amadeus booking reference, just call Qantas reservations and ask them. They can find it given your flight details (date, flight number) and surname.

I am glad I have been able to help someone!
The LAN business class flights Trans-Tasman was the idea.
With QF currently doing I class Trans-Tasman, you need to search from the NZ site, the opportunity cost to do these legs is too much. When QF return to their standard prices the LAN flights and the connecting QF NZ domestic flights become viable for me.
