Hi

I have a return QFF domestic award booking for self and Mrs Pineapple which I need to change times of.

When I go through the online changes and reselect the flights, QF website informs me

Total Price

Current Price:
Previous Price:
Change Fee:
Amount Due=

64,000
+
$129.40 AUD

(64,000
+
$132.76 AUD)

7,000

7,000 pts + $3.36 AUD*

Website appears to have it cough-about and wants to add on the price reduction; or else the price reduction is actually an increase. Well I'm not going to quibble about $6.60 - only two J seats left on the morning and I want them:!: - so I continue and get 'generic error - please try again'.

Anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

Hi Skip (what's that - little Johnny fell into a well?), it might be more appropriate to ask your question at the QFF main thread.

Maybe a kindly mod will shift the thread. BTW the change went through when I tried again, but the 'reduction' in the $$$ price was still billed as a tack-on. Whatever, I got my seats

Cheers skip.

QF has quite a litteral interpretation of price difference. They charge you the absolute value of the fare difference... QF website never ceases to amaze!

In my case they took what the website said was an absolute REDUCTION in the fare, and charged that amount as an INCREASE.

Qantas defends credit-card ‘surcharge’ as being a ‘comfort fee’

QANTAS has told a Reserve Bank review [that] Jetstar’s $8.50 fee for using plastic is not a credit-card surcharge but rather a “comfort” cost, similar to paying extra to sit in the exit row.

Applying this logic, the discount on the new flight, inverted to a surcharge, may be a fee for the 'comfort' of being able to change my booking:confused::!:
