Hi, I was wondering if I booked a return Qantas Frequent Flyer reward flight (i.e. SYD-LAX, LAX-SYD) on one ticket but then decided that I wanted to cancel the LAX-SYD sector would that be possible if the two sectors were on the same ticket? If it was possible could I do this online or would I have to do it through the Service Centre and incur the 8,000 point service fee in addition to the 3,500 point service fee? Thanks in advance :).

The way I read the T&Cs, the answer to your question would be a no if you had already flown the SYD-LAX segment.

14.9 Classic Awards (excluding Classic Awards forming part of Combined Classic Award Bookings) - tickets cancellation & refunds
14.9.1 Classic Award tickets issued for travel on Qantas, oneworld Alliance Airlines or Airline Partners (including Jetstar Airlines) may be submitted for refund and re-credit prior to commencement of travel. Where applicable, only Points that would not have expired will be re-credited. A Cancellation Refund Fee (see the Fee Schedule) will apply.
14.9.2 Once any travel has commenced on a Classic Award, the Award is considered used, even if the remaining travel is not completed. Points will not be re-credited to the Member's account for unused ticket coupons.

Far better to cancel and rebook before you travel.

once you have started travel all bets are off.

Why wouldn;t you phone qantas and ask them what you are up for?
