Just got emailed.

QF9 arrival into LHR padded by 25min (now arr 1415 instead of 1350).

QF trying to keep arival times realistic.

Now brings "duration" of QF 9 from 23h55 to 24h20m (so over the psychological "whole day" mark).

Return leg (QF10) unchanged at this stage (22h50m).

I suspect the change has more to do with the consequences of being late for/missing an arrival slot into LHR than with psychology.

As well as the fact that DXB keeps causing delays. QF10 did also get pushed out recently as well.

I think we need to think about what's next, and Iran is in a much better position apparently!
If that happened, anyone then traveling on such flights would then find themselves barred from the US VWP.

I got delayed 6 or 7 hours for QF10 two weeks ago.

Which reminds me... The Steak in the EK F lounge in DXB is one of the best steaks I have had the pleasure eating anywhere, easily a top 10.
Only complaint is Medium was ever so fractionally over.

But going through Singapore again? Pffft... No way!
The connections to Europe through DXB saves hours of time.
Who would want to fly to LHR unless they had too?

My QF9 last year arrived at LHR 40 mins early. If this padding continues the "whole day psychology thing" will be offset by the "arrived >1hr before schedule"!!

BD

On who?? EK was a willing partner -- SQ is not (like CX in HKG)
Some codeshares on 3K but obviously not the same

Then how about adding code shares out of SIN?

Echoing moa999, but with who? BA to LHR and backtrack from there?

CX out of HKG may have been a different story (but we know the history between CX and QF) but who will partner with QF out of SIN?

Codeshare with BA would be better than nothing.. But there's nothing to stop them codesharing with a non-OneWorld airline (although I would guess that they signed their life away when they made the agreement with Emirates).

Code-sharing out of SE Asia - at one stage - appeared to be headed to KUL rather than SIN, QF appeared to shoot that dead before it was fully hatched.

Flew the QF9 on Christmas Day, arriving into LHR on 26DEC15 - we were 65 minutes early into LHR, which caused all sorts of issues. No gates available so we sat on the tarmac for around 40 mins. Seems that neither DXB nor LHR are helping QF's cause particularly.

It would also be difficult to manage as many partners would be needed to fly out of SIN. There are many destinations where it's not possible to get a non-stop from SIN but a one-stop is possible via DXB. To name a few, there are LYS, BHX, BRU, GVA, VIE, PRG, and BUD.

A codeshare out of SIN on BA to a grand total of how many destinations?
