Qantas has it's own hanger in LA and the surrounding space outside it. From memory there is room for 4 aircraft. Probably allows some work to be done on them whilst out of service, and probably cheaper than parking them in Sydney.

Not hearing many planes from my Sydney home for past months so aircraft sound becoming a novelty. Heard a big plane yesterday and looked at Flightradar. Was QF6003 A380-842 SYD-VCV. I have done many flights in 380 Emerald City and will miss it.
