Good luck.Thanks markis.
Have put in for an upgrade from W to J on QF52 28th Jan so fingers crossed it comes through.
Opted for the last minute option too so could be exciting!
EF shows downstairs is pretty empty but upstairs is full almost so not sure at what level QF decide to offer the upgrades but surely its at this one!
The 56 seater business B747-400 (56J/40W/275Y) will have Skybed Mk I, i.e. angle flat seats.
Trust me to get an upgrade onto this...
Was originally a refurbed when I put in for it

Slept very well!
After all the threads here on it I was not convinced I would but was pretty happy and definitely would take the upgrade again even if I knew it was MkI in advance.
Many people - I'm one of them - have no problem whatsoever in sleeping on Skybed I.
You develop a technique after a while.
Indeed you do! My technique is to not recline the back of a Mk1 all the way, thus creating more of a cradle to lie. I have found this to more comfortable and it prevents me sliding down the 9 degree slope
I can sleep on a plank in economy. Give me a Skybed in business any time.Slept very well!

I cannot sleep well in a Mk1 Skybed. It is awful.
Awful? Hyperbole much?
Whilst a Mk1 bed isn't the latest or greatest "bed in the sky", it's significantly better than what we had 10+ years ago, and there's far worse places to sleep (in an airplane or otherwise)
