I flew QF368 in J class (D fare) a few weeks ago with no frequent flyer number in the booking. I presume given this flight is operated by Asiana, I can't claim this to my AA account?

In the alternative, I don't really want the Status Credits until my next membership year (beginning 1 December). If I put in a retro-claim in December, how likely is it that the SCs will count for the next year?

Thanks in advance

If you put a retro claim in, you will get the SC's in the year that they were flown.

Welcome to AFF. :D
[Aside from some flights on Jetstar] If in an eligible booking class on a QF flight number then points and SC earn is as for travelling Qantas - irrespective of the metal.

As far as retrospective claims go, SC's are credited to the membership "year" relevant to the scheduled departure date of the flight. Even if they don't credit until after the end of your membership "year", there will be a disclaimer indicating this (‡).

Thanks for the responses. So I could claim this QF368 flight to my AA account then? No point having dead SCs!

Serfy- have you had direct experience crediting a QF flight on OZ to AA?

The rules do say you can earn miles on QF codeshare flights, but then clicking the link shows this as the definition of codeshare:

WHAT IS CODESHARING

Codesharing allows American to directly sell another carrier's flight using an AA code and flight number. American codeshares on select quality carriers, including most oneworld® carriers and our regional affiliates, American Eagle and AmericanConnection.

Reading that it would seem limited, in this case, to an AA codeshare on a QF operated flight.

No personal experience, but it seems that if you have a QF flight number in an eligible booking class the you earn "Miles" (RDM as well as EQP/EQM).
