Been trying to book a flight for late April next year in J class one way. The flight is available to book but no seat map and this message shows up all the way.
Concerned if I do book it then it could disappear sometime in the future.
Anybody has any idea what this means?
Thank you for your help

Well, "subject to government and regulatory approval" is 99.9% of the time, nothing to worry about. More a formality than anything. Really should be nothing to do with the seat map. And it won't disappear.

Now, why the seat map isn't showing? Possibly a potential change of aircraft? Most likely you are booking at the limit of the booking engine. Give it a few days. But if your intent on paying big $$ for QF one way LHR-SIN, just call the help desk

It means nothing. Just QF being slow to remove such notices from the site.
It was related to Singapore having to sign off on the QF1/2 shift back to SIN from DXB. Just paperwork.

Some notices like that could prove to be issues, but when it's relating to a country which Australia has open skies agreements with, it's not a problem.

Qantas have not removed the message from the booking engine.

Thank you, I think I will call, we are just booking SIN to SYD. It is an A380 at the moment and can see the seat for the LHR to SYD, not for SIN to SYD.

Unlike the Air Asia X who did not get approval for MEL-DPS commencing Boxing Day 2015, then cancelled the tickets at the last moment resulting in passengers having to buy top dollar from other airlines

That is exactly what qantas told me when I called. They said in the unlikely event its not approved they will transfer us to another qf flight or refund the fares. Not very reasuring

I don't think you have anything to worry about booking QF2. And if it does get cancelled Qantas will have to accommodate you on another flight.
