Does anyone have the facilities to check which aircraft is operating SYD-HKG QF187 this Friday (10th). Bad enough getting stuck on the 76, so I'm hoping for an upgraded one.

What are the J loads like? Would be double bad being stuck down the back!

danielribo,

Expert Flyer has QF 187 on Fri showing as a A332 with J9 and Y0 with quite a few unallocated seats in Y.

Seatcounter.com has J9 & Y9

Not sure where the difference lies.

Ive got it listed in Galileo GDS as a 767-300

Currently 11 seats left in Business.

Interesting difference. Not sure who to believe but probably Travel Guru & Galileo GDS

Looks like it operates on an A330 every day but Fridays where it's on a 767...EF probably just hasn't picked up on it.

Thats one to remember, i thought all services like SYD-HKG would be A333/A332's or B744's. I would hate to make that error if i was flying J, if in whY then little difference to me.

Well I worked it out.

Doh :!:

I looked up the 10th (per the original post) which is a 332, whereas Friday is actually the 7th which shows correctly as a 763 on both Seatcounter and EF

haha yes stupid me, coming back on monday 10th on the overnight 744. Again hoping for a light J load. I guess can't complain much about J in the 76 when its not costing anything

Just signed up to expertflyer soI don't have to harass all the time! Flight 187 seems fairly open... but when I look at the seat map with code "J", it only shows 8 vacant seats... why would that be when the availability is more than 8?

If there had been F on the aircraft I would have said that they were willing to oversell J and op-up to F but then we do have to remember the old addage "the seat map is horrendously unreliable"...

Ok fair enough. So the safe bet would be to ignore the seatmap and trust the booking classes which show the flight as pretty wide open?

QF187 on Friday is a 767 and has about 50 spare economy seats and about 11 in business

QF128 on Monday is a 747 and has about 70 spare economy seats, 16 spare business class seats and 10 first
