For all the JetConnect flights I took at AKL the boarding was always done by jet bridge.I guess buses are in last resort if all gates are busy.

Couple of flights I have done have also been by bridge, but gates have changed an hour out both times, which makes me think it can be a little chaotic at AKL. Only the A380s likely to have guaranteed gate allocation (15 minute walk from the lounges).

I have used "4x" buses before, both on AirNZ and QF - although it has been rare.
