Anyone know if all 747's used on these flights have been refurbed. Also 3J and 3K, are these ok or is upstairs better. Can get 3A 3B one way but not the other way. Thanks.

Personally I prefer upper deck than the nose of the plane as it has a more private feel plus I like the side lockers for storage where you can place a laptop whilst you've got a meal on your tray table. The WC is at the front of row 11 upstairs whereas downstairs its behind row 8.

If your seat map displays 5B & 5J as single seats, you're on a refurbished 744. Ditto if upper deck on the right hand side ends in row 16 and the exit row is row 14.

I've always used 2J,2K and really prefer it over upstairs. The little cabin upfront seems a little bit more "exclusive" to me. Row 1 is very private but can seem a little "close" where as row 2 is still private, only those in row 1 walk past on the way to the toilet.

Thanks, it is refurbed then, it matches that.

1 and 2 are blocked off, have got 3 and are happy with that. DW was in 8 once and wishes she was up in that front section.

14.

OZ BB I also find upstairs quieter. I will miss the 747.

Recently flew upstairs one way and downstairs (5J) on the way back. Better service upstairs, but that may have just been the FA on the particular flights.
