Hi All,

Will be flying QF11 and QF94 in the coming weeks - any idea if these 747-400s have been upgraded to avod?

Also, I am SG but flying M class going over and Q class on my return - what are my chances for an upgrade here do you think?

Are these flights likely to be full? I am flying with the wife and baby so any extra room would be an advantage.

At this stage my seat is 35G (going over) and 48G for my return - any help/assistance/advice you can offer would be fantastic!

Cheers!

What days of the week will you be travelling? You will have a better chance of upgrading with a midweek flight compared to an end of week / weekend flight as loads are typically lighter.

As per comment above

AVOD is not being installed on specific routes, but on specific aircraft. The 744 fleet can be used on any route, so its not possible to predict which flights will have AVOD and which will not until a few days before the flight when some people have access to the systems and information that allow a good guess at which aircraft will operate that flight on that day.

Chances of an operational upgrade on trans-Pacific flights is very low. The demand for points upgrades on that route is high and any need to upgrade due to overbooking the Y cabin will be managed first by confirming waitlisted points upgrades. If you do manage an operational upgrade, then don't bother buying a lotto ticket that week since you will have used all your luck already. The best way to increase your probability is to waitlist for a points upgrade.
