We're doing QF107 (LAX-JFK) in Dec and have taken 3 E/F/J/K (family of 4).......if I was travelling as a couple I'd go for upstairs or row 2.

I've also done some online searches, and found the following info:

The best seats in business class on Qantas' refurbished Boeing 747 - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

Qantas A380-style 747 revamp in full swing: third jumbo takes off - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

Zone A: Middle seats E & F are reading good, as we both have a seperate seat exit on each side. Does anyone who what is actually the "thing" that is shown in front of those seat in the config. diagram?

Front (Zone A) section has 14 actual seats, while the upper deck (Zone F) has 18 actual seats. My friend doesn't care where we sit, but I'm thinking of Middle seats of Zone A on one flight, then the better option of seats on upper deck on the other flight (Entire row 15, as well as row 16 still open.). Is there an actual difference (noise, footsteps etc..) between the 2 rows? I notice row 16 is closer to the stairs.
