After reading a horror story here involving QF93 we have just had an announcement of a 1hr delay due to engineering issues.... this is making my 10:40 LA connection look a bit tighter (considering I want a shower)

How long does it take to get bags/clear customs etc at TBIT at LAX and get to T4??

I think it would be easier for newer members here if you use the COMMON airport acronyms, i.e. MEL.... NOT YMML

sorry... a year of forecasting and using ICAO (international Civil Aviation Organisation) codes has ruined me :)

YMML=Melb (Y=Australia M=Melbourne FIR (Flight Information Region, ie areas controlled by Melbourne Air Traffic Control) ML=Melbourne...)

One through customs/immigration it took me about 20 mins to get though T4 security - this was walking from TBIT to T4.

Note my experience is with using the T4 Priority AAccess line.

Well I am posting from the LAX hilton (not as swank as it might sound) The 2hr delay leaving + overbooked flights meant I got bumped to the next day... my flight out is at an agonising 6am tomorrow morning LA time... AND I seem to have lost my nice pre-selected seats on my American Airlines flights... Now when I go to pre select seats for my rebooked flights is shows none available... While some trips I wouldn't mind a night in a hotel with meals paid, but I have meetings I will be missing tomorrow morning... I asked the QF staff "Is there ANY way of getting through tonight...." Answer was no...

Not particularly happy...
