Hi

We may be flying J on QR and wondering what lounge we would be able to use in Doha, last time I went through Doha I was in Y and ended up in what was classed as a first class lounge, however it was worse than the J lounge in Melbourne International.

Thanks in advance for your informative responses

We will be going exactly this in just over 2 weeks time. Our timing sucks though. First day of Ramadan. No drinks offering in the lounge.

I only realised a couple of weeks ago that there is a somewhat awful F Lounge, which is the lounge you are referring to, the sole purpose of which seems to me to be to satisfy the one world requirement of an F Lounge for Emeralds when flying Y. Qatar only allows actual Business class pax to use Mourjan and only First class pax to use Al Safwa? or whatever it’s called.

Al Mourjan lounge is pretty good for a business lounge.

IIRC the poor oneworld lounge is Oryx.

Yes, Al Mourjan seems very good. There is the other F lounge that isn’t. Not sure how it will work for us with Ramadan though. Flight arrival in the morning will be fine but return flight sees us arriving towards meal time in the evening and no alcohol served.

A friend just travelled through DOH on QR in Y. He was offered paid entry to a 'First Class lounge' and snapped up the offer. Said it was woeful. He has no oneworld status. Probably the Oryx?

Oryx has paid access and is also used by BA, RJ & UL.
The QR 'First Class' lounge allocated to OWEs is a separate facility and AFAIK, no paid access.

Only 2 weeks? Not that’s gone quickly.
