Fellow AFFer's....

If you had the choice of QF vs SQ in Business Class from Brisbane to Singapore in December later this year (and on the A330)... which would you choose and why???

Will be travelling with my wife and infant son.... if perhaps one has an advantage over the other???...

First world problem I know but need to make a decision and not sure which way to go!!!

Many thanks in advance!

At the moment I would choose SQ.

Both QF and SQ have angled beds, but for me the SQ ones seem flatter. I can actually sleep on them.

Once QF gets their new full flat seating on their A330s (and I think December might be a bit too early to have any reasonable chance of getting a new aircraft), they would be the way to go.

aj is BNE-SIN flt day or nt? Here is some info on SQ Weber (Regional Seats) - Airbus A330 fleet seen on many Australian routes. Those planes have Singapore Airlines' Best business class seats: Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300 refit - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller angled lie-flat seats -- the Weber 7811s Virgin Australia's new Airbus A330 lie-flat business class seats - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller - personally I like these seats better than the bigger Diamond seats on 380 / 77W for 'sitting daytime' - but unlike MT I hate them for trying to 'sleep' - hope that helps a bit.

I would 100% choose Singapore, the seats are great but the it is the service on SQ that is the huge difference it just makes the trip so much more enjoyable. We have done this trip with our infant 3 or 4 times and it has been fantastic. If there are spare seats they will make one up for your infant to sleep and also take them for a bit to give you some time together. Our 32 month old boy has now done over 30 flights and I would choose SQ whenever possible.

Good luck

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

'Flights' which could be multiple flights within 1 month. By the time my daughter was 13 months old she had done 21 flights with the majority in business class.

She will never remember anything though :/

I almost made the silly mistake of booking SQ J as part of a mixed class F itinerary from BNE!

For the same amount of points I was extremely lucky to catch some F availability out of Melbourne so will be flying F on the 777-300ER then Suites on the A380 MEL-SIN-CDG!

Thanks all for the advice!

I would choose the Skybed.

Perceived service is different for all. SQ and QF are very similar.

SQ is much better than QF. Better seats, better service, better airline. Qantas is no longer ranked in the top 10 airlines, that says it all

Skytrax isn't that authoritative of a site to base that argument on - 11th isn't that significantly out of the top 10 is it...

Sq J >>>>Qf J in all regards I'm afraid.....

Ok...got me there as no PJs on Sq J....Qf are one of the few airlines that give PJs on (some) J flights...

It seems only a few (including Bob Carr) think it's a bit strange that SQ don't - not even on 18+ hour flights. I BYO. :)

No amenity kits and no pjs... but bring your own. But until QF brings in their new full flats, SQ would be my first choice. With the new seating, QF would win hands down. (although i suppose CX would think thy win hands-down with quadruple daily full flats... and yet people still fly QF...)

Bummer, I guess you'll have to give up flying SQ now they are clearly an unsafe airline ( by your logic)

And according to Skytrax (which I hate anyway) Qantas was number airline in the Asia Pacific region.
